The newest ABCD Study newsletter is here, and it’s packed with fresh insights from the ABCD researchers. Sent each June, this update gives an overview of all the projects currently underway in the ABCD Study.
This year’s edition highlights two exciting pieces of research:
- Menstruation pain study — Using ABCD data from mothers and daughters, PhD student Siyu Zhou found that a mother’s health during pregnancy may be linked to the menstrual pain her daughter experiences later in life.
- Urban environment research — recently graduated PhD researcher Hanan Bozhar studied how growing up in the city relates to mental health and substance use among ABCD teens aged 16–19, offering new insight into how the urban environment shapes young people.
