How do we treat your personal data?
To ensure privacy in the ABCD study, data and body material (blood and saliva) are coded. Your name and other data that can directly identify you are kept separately . Only with the key to the code can data be traced back to you. The key to the code remains secure with the ABCD study. Data will only be sent to researchers under that code. No traceable data will be mentioned in publications about the study.
The ABCD study also cooperates with researchers outside the EU. In those countries, EU rules on the protection of personal data do not apply. However, your privacy is protected at an equivalent level. Only coded, anonymous data is included.
The ABCD study is also listed in an overview of medical-scientific studies, namely on volksgezondheidenzorg.info. This website does not contain any information that can be traced back to individuals, but only provides an overview of data collected by the ABCD study. This overview seeks to avoid duplicate data collection.
